The Joint Scoping Mission of the Africa Trade Competitiveness and Market Access Programme (ATCMAP) � SADC Component is being held in Gaborone, Botswana, from September 4-6, 2024. Funded by the European Union, this initiative aims to support SADC member states in leveraging trade opportunities by ensuring compliance with international standards, addressing market access barriers, and enhancing the export potential of MSMEs.

Focus Areas: Regional Trade Enhancement: Promoting intra-regional trade by aligning policies and fostering collaboration among SADC member states. Capacity Building: Offering training and resources to boost trade-related capabilities within the region. Market Access Improvements: Identifying and addressing both tariff and non-tariff barriers to facilitate access to regional and international markets. Objectives of the Joint Scoping Mission: Assess Trade Barriers: Evaluate existing barriers within the SADC region.

Foster Collaboration: Strengthen partnerships to improve trade competitiveness and market access. Strategize Action: Develop a roadmap for effective trade policy implementation.
