ZBCA to Leverage SADC Industrial Week for Industry and Economic Growth

The Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA) plans to leverage the upcoming Southern African Development Community (SADC) Industrial Week to seek ways to boost the construction industry and drive economic growth. Zimbabwe will host the SADC Summit and Industrial Week from July 28 to August 2 in Harare.

Incoming ZBCA President Tinashe Manzungu announced that the association will use this platform to advocate for policies and regulations that enhance the growth and competitiveness of the construction industry.

"As a country, we are hosting the SADC Industrialisation Week in a few days, and the world's eyes are on Zimbabwe as we seek innovative ways to boost our industries and drive economic growth. The current landscape presents both challenges and unparalleled opportunities for our industry," said Manzungu.

He highlighted the growing urbanization trend within SADC, which places significant demand on their expertise. The ZBCA's priorities include advocating for supportive policies, partnering with the government and stakeholders to develop infrastructure projects, and empowering local contractors.

Manzungu emphasized the importance of collaboration with the government, private sector, and international partners. "As we embark on this journey, we call upon all Zimbabweans to support our efforts and work together to build a stronger and more prosperous nation," he said.

He added that the ZBCA aims to create a thriving construction industry that is economically robust, socially responsible, and prioritizes safety, environmental consciousness, and sustainable infrastructure for future generations.
