SGU Partners with Legae Academy to Support Aspiring Medical Students in Botswana

St. Georges University (SGU) School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, has established a three year partnership with Legae Academy, an internationally certified secondary school located in Gaborone, Botswana. This collaboration aims to assist aspiring medical students from Legae Academy, facilitating a smoother application process to SGU. The partnership aligns with SGUs commitment to addressing the global shortage of doctors, particularly in Africa.



With a history of training 130 medical graduates from Botswana and currently enrolling 64 students from the country, SGU is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals across the continent. Students from Legae Academy who gain admission to SGUs four-year MD program, as well as its 5, 6, and 7 year MD tracks, will have access to various benefits offered by the medical school.



Bradley Wade, SGUs regional director of recruitment, emphasized that this partnership reinforces SGUs ongoing commitment to empowering future healthcare professionals in Botswana. Students accepted into SGU will enjoy several advantages, including partial scholarships for self-funded students, a guaranteed interview scheme, and access to SGUs Global Medic Club. This online learning platform provides exclusive content and resources to enhance students educational experiences.



Founded in 1992, Legae Academy follows the Cambridge IGCSE and A level syllabuses, rooted in the UK education system. Over its 33 years of operation, the academy has built a strong national and international reputation, consistently achieving examination results that surpass the global average for international private schools. This track record positions Legae Academy as a leading institution for students aspiring to pursue higher education.
