Phemo was established in 2008 as a company participating in variety of refrigeration and ventilation systems activities aimed at creating more technical jobs in the new South Africa. Its establishment was in response to the government's efforts to create an environment for the previously disadvantaged groups to participate meaningfully in the mainstream economy. It is on this basis that Phemo was established.
