Kalafong Hospital

Kalafong Provincial Tertiary Hospital (KPTH) is a public hospital under the Gauteng Health Department. It is located in Atteridgeville, a township on the western outskirts of Pretoria, Gauteng Province. The institution has been operational since 01 March 1972, and was officially opened in 1973.
"Kalafong" is a Tswana name, bearing a significant meaning: "a place of healing".
The facility was categorised as a Tertiary Hospital in 2014. The Tertiary level status permits the hospital to render complex specialist services in the main. The hospital is approved for 857 beds.
